This course seeks to assist students in understanding the relationships between political and social institutions in Barbados and the rest of the Caribbean region.

The course will also provide information on how these two institutions impact on and affect each other and the role of Social Worker as a social change agent engaging in a political process, within the boundaries of a social service organisation’s bureaucratic framework and outside these boundaries. Course content will also include an examination of theoretical background to activist Social Work practice.
